The necessity of Cleanliness

The necessity of Cleanliness

Cleanliness is the habit of keeping clean. It is a noble quality and a great virtue. If we want to keep in good health, we have to observe cleanliness in all affairs. Every religion emphasizes the importance of cleanliness. It is one of the four pillars of Islam. Our holy prophet laid a great stress on it; It is a part of our faith. A man in Islam is disallowed from observing religious rites if he is not clean in body and mind. “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” is a wise saying. This also upholds the necessity of cleanliness in life. Cleanliness makes everything look cheerful and fresh.

The tradition of washing hands before meals is a sign of cleanliness. Unclean surroundings dirty dwelling houses and kitchens, dirty clothes, bedding etc. create unhealthy atmosphere. Even in our ordinary daily life we see that a man in dirty body and dirty clothes are objects of hatred of others. Dirtiness and diseases go together because dirtiness breeds the germs of diseases.

So in order to keep in good health we should observe the rules of cleanliness. That is we should take bath everyday. We should put on neat and clean dress. We should keep the surroundings of our houses neat and clean. We should not allow any refuge to stand near our dwelling houses. The drains around our houses should also be cleared regularly.

It is not difficult to acquire the habit of cleanliness. What is required most is the habit and our willingness to remain in clean. It costs us nothing but buys everything.

About Physical Exercise

                              PHYSICAL EXERCISE

What is Physical Exercise
Physical exercise means the regular movement of the limbs of our body according to rules. It is essential to keep our body fit and mind sound. Physical exercise is of various kinds. Good forms of exercise are walking, swimming, riding, racing, rowing, gymnastics, wrestling and playing many other indoor and outdoor games.

Suitability of Physical Exercise
All forms of physical exercise are not suitable for all men. If a weak man takes part in a football game or hockey, he will get tired. It does no good for his health. Those who are strong and stout can take all forms of physical exercise. On the other hand those who are weak can not take part in all forms of physical exercise. Walking is the best kind of physical exercise for all in all circumstances. It is of special use to the weak and old. Walking in the morning and evening refreshes our body and mind. It also enables a man to enjoy the scenic beauty of nature. Swimming is also a good Physical exercise. It strengthens all the limbs of our body. Gymnastics exercises are not suited to people of all ages. The weak and the old cannot stand the strains of gymnastic exercises. Gymnastic exercises are best suited to the young, students and members of well organized clubs. Riding, racing, rowing, wrestling, indoor and outdoor games offer simple opportunity for the exercise of our body. Among all forms of physical exercise walking and swimming are the best because they cost nothing.

Importance of Physical Exercise
An-oft quoted proverb goes that, a sound mind lives in a sound body. Mere acquisition of knowledge without sound health is of no use to society. There lies a close connection between body and the mind. If the body is unsound, the mind must be unsound. We cannot think of a sound mind without a sound health. It is physical exercise which enables us to build a good health which is the key to success.

Effects of Neglecting Physical Exercise
There are many people who do not take physical exercise. They can hardly realize that they themselves are ruining their health. They fall victim to many diseases. Life becomes dull to them. They are always peevish and ill tempered.

What you need to Know
It needs no telling the importance of physical exercise. We build good health and sound mind through physical exercise. Physical exercise makes our body active and the muscles strong. It also improves our power of digestion and blood circulation. It gives strength to our brain. Many good habits are formed through outdoor games. It teaches us unity, patience, obedience, discipline and punctuality.

What Meditation is?

What is Meditation?
You may consider meditation as a worship or prayer. But actually meditation means awareness. Whatever you do with awareness is called meditation. As an example, listening to the singing of birds is meditation, watching your breath with your eye lids closed is meditation. Any activity that is free from any other distraction to the mind is called meditation.

What you need to know
The word meditation is derived from two Latin words: - one is Meditari which means To think or To exercise the mind and the other is Mederi which means To heal. Now a days some peoples may consider meditation as spiritual practice where a man sits down with his eyes closed and empties his mind to get inner peace, relaxation, or even an experience of gods power. Another peoples may describe the meditation as doing any kinds of job with the full concentration of mind. But meditation is not that. Meditation means you must go through several stages of your mind so that your physical position, breath control and relaxation come the more advanced stages of concentration, contemplation and then ultimately absorption.

Types of Meditation
There are basically two types of meditation is practiced now a days. One is Concentrative meditation and the other is Mindfulness meditation.
Concentrative meditation
Concentrative meditation focuses the attention on the breath, an image or a sound in order to still the mind and allow a greater awareness and clarity to emerge. This is like a zoom lens in a camera. We narrow our focus to a selected field.
Mindfulness meditation
Mindfulness meditation focuses the attention of sensations, feelings, images, thoughts, sounds, smells etc. without thinking about them.

Why you learn to Meditate
The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness, but if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy,          even we are living in the very best condition. If we train us in meditation, our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we will experience a purer and purer form of happiness. Eventually we will be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.
